Eligibility

State Representation

If you, or the athlete you support, are selected in a SA state team competing in a Sport Inclusion Australia (SIA) recognised competition they will need to register with SIA and apply for eligibility to be able to play in the competition or championships.

Sport Inclusion Australia requires all athletes seeking eligibility to provide the following documents for review:

  • A completed SIA National Eligibility Application Form
  • Formal documents with evidence of Intellectual Disability including IQ testing (ie; Psychological Assessment)
  • Any other supporting documents (ie: Enrollment in Disability Unit Education, Supported Work Program)

National Representation

If you, or the athlete you support, are selected in a Australian national team competing in a recognised international competition they will need to register with Virtus to be able to compete in this event.

Sport Inclusion Australia (SIA) collects all applications for Virtus eligibility in Australia.

Virtus requires all athletes seeking eligibility to provide the following documents for review:

  • A completed Virtus International Eligibility Application Form
  • Formal documents with evidence of disability as outlined in the Virtus Guidelines

Additionally a team coach, manager or a State/National Sporting Body staff member may also speak with you about this and be able to provide instructions on what needs to be done.
