19 Oct Inclusive Sport SA Annual Awards
On Monday October 12th, Inclusive Sport SA held their Annual Awards following the AGM.
Three awards are presented each year to participants who are involved in a sport or activity that is connected to Inclusive Sport SA. The awards are named after John Gladstone for his contribution over many years as President and as a keen supporter of Inclusive Sport SA, and also Marie Little OAM who was the founder of who we are today.[divider_flat]
Ricky Tran with Inclusive Sport SA Chairperson Darren Steele
John Gladstone Most Outstanding Achievement Award is presented to an individual involved in a non-competitive sport or activity (Rapidswim – Learn to Swim and Aquatic Therapy, Canoeing, Indoor Rowing and Lawn Bowls). This award is based on set criteria including level of achievement, attendance and improvement in social skills and the activity.
2015 Nominees: Joseph Brady (Indoor Rowing), Shannon Dennis (Learn to Swim), Ethan Liu (Aquatic Therapy) and Ricky Tran (Aquatic Therapy)
2015 Winner: RICKY TRAN (Aquatic Therapy)
Ricky has significantly improved his water confidence. He can now swim without floaties for short distances and swim the width of the pool with a kickboard. Ricky has begun playing social games in the pool with another participant, which is a significant gain for him. It is fantastic to see him developing in this area and having increased confidence.[hr]
Travis Hogan with Inclusive Sport SA Chairperson Darren Steele
John Gladstone Most Outstanding Sports Person Award is presented to an individual involved in a competitive sport (AFL Football, Indoor Cricket, Indoor Soccer and Netball). This award is based on set criteria including sporting performance, sportsmanship skills and attendance.
2015 Nominees: Bradley Bettens (AFL Football), Storm Duncan (Netball) and Travis Hogan (Indoor Cricket)
2015 Winner: TRAVIS HOGAN (Indoor Cricket)
Travis has improved his skills in both leadership and his cricketing ability. He leads from the front and is always willing to lend a hand and help others less capable than himself in the team.[hr]
Ashlee Hartnett with Inclusive Sport SA Chairperson Darren Steele
Marie Little OAM Elite Sports Person Award is presented to an athlete who has participated in State, National and/or International competitions/championships. This award is based on set criteria including sporting performance, sportsmanship skills and attendance.
2015 Nominees: Rhys Baker (AFL Football and Futsal), Ashlee Hartnett (Netball) and Shane Smith (AFL Football and Futsal)
2015 Winner: ASHLEE HARTNETT (Netball)
Ashlee is a strong player with exceptional skill. She is a great leader on and off the court and was named Captain of the South Australian Rubies team in 2015 that finished runner up in the Marie Little OAM Shield.[divider_flat]
