20 Jun Congratulations – Five C6 players reach 100 games milestone!
It was a milestone day on Saturday 15 June in the C6 Netball division with players Catherine Bienke, Tammy Brixton, Alex Connell, Sophie Kneebone and Jodi Smith all reaching 100 games with the Contax Netball Club team. Jodi Smith – a Goal Shooter who has been playing netball for around 19 years. Jodi practices her goal shooting three times a week, is dedicated to attending training and won the best on court in the C6 Grand Final in 2018, despite being part of the losing team. Alex Connell – a very versatile player who has played every position on the court in the last two years. Alex is committed to training and always trying to improve her game. Her best position is Wing Attack, but Coach Paul Beinke notes that she is very easy to coach and happy to play anywhere. Sophie Kneebone – a smooth running mid court player, best in Wing Attack or Centre. Tammy Brixton – a mid court player who has also proved to be very versatile. Tammy is always up for the challenge and plays with plenty of speed and aggression. Catherine Beinke – Best known for her rocket passing, Catherine is able to turn defence into attack very quickly. Always ready for training, Coach Paul Beinke noted that she has the unenviable task of being coached by her father. The five players were surprised by their coach and manager with giant balloons reading “100” in the club’s signature blue colour before the start of the day’s game against the Semaphore 2 team at Priceline Stadium. Cheered on by family, friends and Contax club members, who had come out to the game to show support and celebrate the significant moment with the group, the team went on to record a 38 goal win on the day. Congratulations to all five players on the fantastic achievement of 100 games, here’s to 100 more!
