Information, Linkages and Capacity Building Project

Inclusive Sport SA (ISSA) are pleased to undertake the delivery of an Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) Project with the National Disability Insurance Agency. The project will facilitate the collaboration of sport and recreation stakeholders and people living with a disability to produce a collective of information that showcases inclusive participation opportunities for both organisations and individuals alike.

The two year project will build the infrastructure necessary for knowledge sharing amongst the sector to provide positive outcomes for people living with disabilities. This includes access to an online hub of information needed to make active lifestyle decisions and choices and a video campaign that promotes disability as an ‘ordinary life’.

With the construction of a best practises online hub, video campaign and newly created roles within ISSA to build and manage the ILC Project, the organisation is braced to empower and enable the sector and people living with a disability by acting as a conduit to possibility, opportunity and learning.

ILC Initiatives

  • How Inclusive are SA Sport Clubs Report – offering a glimpse into current community attitudes regarding the involvement of people with disability (PWD) in local club sport. Read the Report HERE.
  • Participant Advisory Group – the first advisory group to the sport and recreation sector, made up entirely of participants with lived experience of disability that will provide valuable insight and advice to the South Australian sport and recreation sector to engage more participants in an active lifestyle. Read more HERE.
  • Well Played Campaign – aiming to share the unique sporting stories of People With Disability and sport clubs that embody inclusion within South Australia. The series, which began in September 2019, shares the stories of individuals, teams and clubs from across sporting codes found within SA’s local sporting community. Watch HERE.
